Mildred Bruce Stokley
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Mildred Bruce StokleyMildred Bruce Stokley, 71, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008, at her residence.

The family will receive visitors after 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 1st, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 2nd, at Mineral Cemetery in Mineral, Texas.

Mildred was born July 30, 1936, in Mineral, Texas.  She graduated from Beeville High School, married her husband, Ralph, and moved to Alice, Texas, later living in Houston, Conroe, and finally Galveston, where she has been a resident for the last 7 years.  Mildred retired in 2005 from Wal-mart, where she worked as a sales associate in the fabric department.  Mildred loved doing arts and crafts and tried her hand at a bit of everything, from stained glass and oil painting to ceramics and sewing.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Perrin and Myra Williamson; her husband, Ralph Stokley; and her infant son, Bruce Stokley.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Stokley and wife, Laurie; Edgar Stokley and wife, Patricia; and Timothy Stokley and wife, Sabrina; grandchildren: Kristy, Elizabeth, Brandon, Vanessa, Latisha, Timothy, Jr., Seth, and Bruce; sisters, Nancy Hoffmyer, Billie Gunderman, Dorothy Gilmore, and Myra Walters and husband, Cotton; her beloved cat, Snow White; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mildred’s family wishes to express special thanks to her friends at Somerset Retirement Village.  Memorials may be made in Mildred’s name to the South Texas Children’s Home, P O Box 1210, Beeville, Texas 78104.
