Andrew W. “Andy” KuehlMr. Andrew W. “Andy” Kuehl passed from this life Sunday morning, March 2, 2008, in Alvin.

Born October 30, 1922 in Mart, Texas, Mr. Kuehl graduated from Prairie Hill High School and joined the U. S. Army in 1943.  He served in Europe in the 261st Army Air Forces Base Unit during WW II until his discharge in 1945.  He married the former Floy Deal in 1946, beginning a union that would span 53 years.  They lived for many years in Texas City before moving to Santa Fe in 1967.  He worked at the Monsanto Texas City Plant for 29 years before retiring as a superintendent in 1981, and had served on the Santa Fe ISD Board of Trustees, the Galveston Co. Fair and Rodeo Board and was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church and the American Quarter Horse Association.

Preceded in death by his wife, “Miss Floy”, survivors include his sons,Andrew Alan Kuehl and wife, Sherri, Jack Andrew Kuehl and wife, Dana, all of Santa Fe; daughters, Mary Kuehl Lauzon and husband, F. Edward, III of Friendswood, Donna Hagood McGuire and husband, Paul of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Amy Ann Delaney, Marshal Andrew Kuehl, Clint Alan Kuehl, Jamie Lorraine Tyrrell, Donna Christine Lauzon, Lisa Marie Tovey, Floy Nicole Hagood and Austin Stuart Hagood; great grandson, Justin Hagood; brothers, Arthur “Son”, Edwin, Jack, Gene and Donnie Kuehl; sisters, Lorraine Varner and Marilyn Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501, Brother F. Edward Lauzon, III officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

Pallbearers will be Richey Delaney, Austin Hagood, Andy Kuehl, Clint Kuehl, Sloan Kuehl and Kevin Tyrrell.

Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 570127, Houston, TX 77257-0127. .
