Pearland City Council on Monday voted to approve renaming the Southwest Environmental Center to the John Hargrove Environmental Complex.

The city council voted to approve the first reading of an ordinance to change the zoning of five acres of land near Hughes Ranch Road and Linda Lane from Single Family Estate District to Planned Development District.

After meeting in executive session, the city council voted to authorize staff to negotiate on subject property.

All other items were approved by majority vote of the council.
