Pearland City Council on Monday voted to approve renaming the Southwest Environmental Center to the John Hargrove Environmental Complex.

The city council voted to defeat an ordinance for a conditional use permit to allow "Agricultural Animal Husbandry" in a Suburban Residential - 15 District at the request of Troy and Peggy Stalcup.

The city council voted to defeat an ordinance for a conditional use permit to allow "Agricultural Animal Husbandry" in a residential area at the request of Dorothy Black.

The city council voted to defeat an ordinance to change the zoning of 9.7 acres located near Roy Road and FM 518 from Office and Professional District to General Business Retail District.

The city council took no action on a resolution authorizing City Manager Bill Eisen to enter into a reimbursement agreement for installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Shadow Creek Parkway and Business Center Drive.

The city council voted to approve the first reading of an ordinance to change the zoning of five acres of land near Hughes Ranch Road and Linda Lane from Single Family Estate District to Planned Development District.

After meeting in executive session, the city council voted to authorize staff to negotiate on subject property.

All other items were approved by majority vote of the council.
