Rita Maria Rincon Mrs. Rita Maria Rincon passed from this life Saturday, March 8, 2008, at UTMB in Galveston.

Born May 22, 1911 in Monterey, Mexico, Mrs. Rincon had been a resident of Santa Fe for 63 years, previously of Genoa, TX.  She had been employed as a custodian for Santa Fe ISD with previous employment of working in the fields and at a gardening nursery in Houston.  Rita was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she was active in the Guadalpanos and enjoyed
working in her garden, taking care of the animals, especially loved her family and was a very generous and spiritual lady.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Florencio Rincon; parents, Francisco and Antonio Torres; sons-in-law, Jesse Espinoza, Sr., John Solis, Jr., Joe Guzman, Lloyd Avers, David Bermudez; 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Survivors include her sons, Margarito Rincon of Santa Fe, Rudy Rincon of Canandaigua, NY and Roger Rincon of Santa Fe; daughters, Zenaida Rodriguez and husband, Manuel of Houston, Ernestina Espinoza of Galveston, Tommie Solis of Santa Fe, Enedina Guzman Avers of La Port, Mary Bermudez of Houston, Mary Lou Herrera and husband, Gilbert of Alvin; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Reverend John Kappe, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be David Bermudez, Raymond Guzman, Rick Guzman, Chris Rendon, Israel Solis and John Robert Solis.

Visitation was from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.  A vigil service began at 7:00 p.m.

Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 10114 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, TX 77563.

Mrs. Rincon’s family would like to express a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Blocker Burn Unit at UTMB Hospital.
