Deborah Ann Smith JonesDeborah Ann Smith Jones, 50, departed this life on Friday, March 7, 2008, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX.

Deborah Ann was born on January 15, 1958, to Neal and Peggy Sue Smith. Her early childhood education began at Holy Rosary Catholic School and Lovenberg School, and in 1976 she was a member of the graduating class of Ball High School.

She was employed at Sizzler, Le’Feet, Benno's Catering, Silver Spoon Day Care, and as well as a home care provider. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church until she joined the Joy Tabernacle Baptist Church in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lela Austin; Rosena Smith; Johnny Ray Wyatt, and Clarence Smith; aunts, Lucille Hubbard, Laura Mae Davis, and Fannie Mae Wynne; uncles, Thomas and Steward Pope; stepfather, Bennie Winfield; brother, Bennie Winfield, Jr.; grandchildren, Roderick Allen, Jr.; Leonard III, and Leniah Jones.

Left with cherish memories in their hearts, are her parents; husband, Leonard Jones, Sr.; children, Larry Yoakum, Jr. (Leiya); Tameka Yoakum (Derrick), and Leonard Jones, Jr. (Brandy); sisters, Yvonne Thomas (Leonard); Shirita Smith (Rodney); Demetrius Winfield (Brian), and Wanda Harris; brothers, Ronnie Smith (Sylvie); Neal Smith, Jr.; Keith Stovall (Patricia); uncles, Gerald Pope; Chauncey Pope (Margaret); Samuel Pope (Rita ); nieces, Torri Mathews (Dexter); Tasha Matthews (Daniel); Sharon and Shanice Smith, and Dayna Bates; nephews, Brandon (Crystal), Broderick, Neal III, Brock, and Brent Smith; Mitchell Thomas, Jr., and Dante Winfield; grandchildren, Mirage Mack; Latonio Dansley, Jr. (CoCo); Derrick Black, Jr.; Soria, Le’Darrin, and Jamaal Jones; Kalum and Deonza Yoakum; four great nephews, Pernell, Jr., Marquis; Tash and Brandon, Jr.; great niece, Tavia; mother in law, Inez Petteway; sisters in law, Linda Dickie, and Beatrice Jones; brothers in law, Marcus and James Petteway; devoted friends, Keith Odens; Lisa Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will begin at 9 AM on Thursday, March 13, 2008, followed by a service celebrating her life at 11:00 AM in the chapel of E R Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. W. E. Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
