Lowell W. “Sonny” DickeyMr. Lowell W. “Sonny” Dickey passed from this life Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at UTMB in Galveston.

Born August 29, 1944 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Mr. Dickey had been a resident of Santa Fe for 11 years, previously of Pearland.  He had been employed as an elevator technician for 25 years, most recently with Tyson-Krupp Elevators, served in the US Navy, was of the Catholic faith, a disabled vet who was a life member of PBR Forces Veterans Association, the VFW in Pearland and enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his son, Lowell William Kirby; brother, Terry M. Dickey and wife, Tammy of Santa Fe; sisters, Yvonne Marie Dickey of Santa Fe, Diedre Ann Smith and husband, Bubba of Baytown, Tina Maureen Dickey of Santa Fe and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend John Kappe officiating.

Graveside services will be at 1:45 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Garry Ball, John Hunter, Dan Plite, Jeff Shipwash, Dennis White and Alan Womack.

Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.

Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 570127, Houston, TX 77257-0127.
