 Anthony “Tony” Chambers, age 62, of Galveston passed away, Thursday, March 13, 2008, at his residence in Galveston. Funeral services are at 11:00 am, Friday, March 21, 2008 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home of Galveston with Rev. Louis Simpson officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00 am Friday until service time.
Anthony was born December 26, 1945 in Rosie, Louisiana to Stanley Joseph Chambers and Doris Chambers. He was a longshoreman with the ILA # 1504 in Galveston and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, a grandmother, Carnetta “Corine” Chambers, brothers, Stanley “S.S.” Chambers, Jr., and John “Jack” Chambers; a sister, Carolyn Chambers. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Chambers, children, Pamela “Pam” Parson, JoAnn Cade, Sonny Parson and wife Yolanda; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Chambers of California, and Charlene Chambers of Galveston; brothers, Jerry Chambers of Baton Rouge, and Felton Chambers of Galveston; aunts, Florence Brown and husband Suddie of Baton Rouge, Ollie Plummer of Zachary, LA, Alice Coleman of Lemoyne, LA, Carrie Excel and Annie Wilson both of California; a devoted cousin, Diana Deyon, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers are Anthony, Larry Butler, Robert Washington, and Spellman Chambers.
