Henry "Sonny" David, Jr.Mr. Henry "Sonny" David, Jr. passed from this life Sunday evening, March 30, 2008, in Texas City.

Born January 27, 1938 in Alta Loma, TX, Sonny had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. He had been employed as a master plumber for over 20 years before retiring in 1984 and was of the Lutheran faith. Sonny was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where he has many wonderful friends. He loved to help raise money for the Lodge’s scholarship fund for local kids, and for the Arthritis Foundation. Sonny had a great love for fishing and taught his sons to love it too. His legacy is being carried on through his grandchildren, as they love to fish as well.

Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alta David; and brother, Donald David, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sarah David; sons, Charles David, Sr. and wife, Shelley, Boyd David and wife, Tammy, Chris David all of Santa Fe; stepson, Mark Malmberg and wife Kirsten of Dickinson; grandchildren, Charles, Jr., Josh, Ariel, Ashli, Boyd, Jr., Curtis, Andrew, Fallon, Mason, Madison; great-grandchild, Hailey; brother, Willie David of Santa Fe; sisters, Marie Delesandri, Betty Langer, Alma Ronning all of Santa Fe; numerous nieces and nephews; his "other kid", Miriam Page, DVM and his constant companion, Orbit.

Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Alta Loma Cemetery with Chaplain Chad Hawkins officiating.

Interment will follow under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Lawrance Brown, Boyd David, Charles David, Sr., Charles David, Jr., Chris David and Jerrel David, Jr. Honorary bearers will be Mike Ennis, Mark Malmberg, Ronnie Solis, Braxton Williams, Richard Wilson and his many Fraternal Brothers at the Lodge.

Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.

Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the Arthritis Foundation, 3120 SW Frwy, Ste. 215, Houston, TX 77098.
