Frances Garcia passed away at her residence in Galveston at the age of 90. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basillica in Galveston on Thursday, April 3rd at 10:00 a.m. with the Father Brendan Murphy celebrant followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston. Visitation will be held at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston on Wednesday, April 2nd from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil and rosary to be held at 7:00 pm.
Frances was born October 9, 1917 in Lavernia, Texas to Aurelio Guerrero and Maria Bonillia Guerrero. She was a dedicated homemaker, where she loved to tend her garden, crochet and was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Cathederal Basilica.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, sister and her daughter, Virginia DeLuna, Frances is survived by her daughters, Mary Flores and husband, Johnny of Texas City, Olivia Callais of Larose, Louisiana, Linda Maher and husband, Larry Petrash of La Marque, Susana Saldana and husband, Jessie of Katy, Texas and Janie Helms and husband, Frank of La Marque; sons, Jose Garcia of Galveston, Jesse Garcia and wife, Linda of Galveston, Paulo and wife Annette of Texas City, Pedro Garcia and wife Christine of Charleston, South Carolina and Luis Garcia of Richmand, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Jose Garcia, Jese Garcia, Paulo Garcia, Pedro Garcia, Christopher Saldana and Arthur Ray Flores.
