Henrietta Mary Chambers, 77, received her reward of eternal rest on Friday March 28, 2008, at UTMB hospital.
Henrietta was born on January 9, 1931, in Palmetta, LA to Arthur C. and Argentine Savour Thomas.
She was retired from UTMB Environmental services. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; who enjoyed her family gathering and working in the garden. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Holy Rosary church and also a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Annie Bell Lane, and brother, Clarence Thomas.
She leaves with cherish memories her husband of 56 years, Lester Chambers, Sr.; devoted son, Lester (Aleta) Chambers, Jr.; son, Ronald L. Lewis; daughter, Laura Chambers Robinson; granddaughters, Nicole and Victoria Robinson; six great grandchildren; brother Lewis (Isabella) Thomas; sister, Lercy Berry; sisters in law, Ida Thomas; Gladys Clyde, Joe Chambers; Maude (Zeltee) Gamble, and Lucille Chambers; a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to her goddaughter, Rita Irving; godson, Allen Byrd; Lillie Gibson; Martha Johnson; Ida Mae Denton; Loretta Stelly; Stella; Genevieve Thomas Noel and oncology nurses of UTMB, Ron and Tina.
Visitation will begin at 9 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2008, with a rosary at 9:30 followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with father Joseph Onuoha, celebrant. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
