Norvell Lynn Phillips, Jr., 54, entered into eternal rest on Monday March 31, 2008, at his residence.
Norvell was born on August 11, 1953, in Galveston to Marguritte and Norvell L. Phillips, Sr.. He was a graduate of O’Connell High School. Norvell was a member of the Holy Rosary church and also a member of the Knights of Peter Claver. He loved all sports and was well known for his knowledge of them. He was employed at UTMB for 25 years until his health started to fail.
Upon his arrival to the pearly gates of heaven he will be greeted by his parents and grandparents.
Loved ones left to cherish memories are his devoted wife, Patricia Mack Phillips; stepchildren, Rochandra Mack Harris (Robert); Rhonda Mack, and Ronald Mack, Jr. (Leonisha) all of Galveston; sisters, Lauren Yoni Benson; Susan Shepard; Jacqueline Mitchell; Kathryn Rogers, and Norva Kim Johnson all of Galveston; uncle, Marion Oliver, Jr.; aunts, Mildred Douglas, and Delores Washington; devoted cousins, Ervine and Oscar Douglas; brother in law, Jesse Boudreaux (Alma ); devoted friend, Ms. Augustus Sims; host of grandchildren, other cousins, nieces, nephews, many friends of UTMB housekeeping and TDCJ staffs.
Visitation will begin at 9 AM on Monday, April 7, 2008, with a rosary at 9:30 followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Paul Banet, celebrant.
