Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Joyce Pauline LaCoumeJoyce Pauline LaCoume, 80, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, at her residence.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Monday, April 7th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Sunday, April 6th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, led by Father John Bok, OFM.

Joyce was born September 17, 1927, in Shiner, Texas, and graduated from Shiner High School.  She went on to receive her training as an RN through the University of Texas Diploma Program, and Joyce spent 32 years in Pediatrics at UTMB.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Hilda and Curt Messer, and her husband, LeRoy LaCoume.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Mardis and husband, Daryn; grandsons, Sean Thompson, Daryn Mardis, Jr., and Donovan Mardis; cousin, Jimmy LaCoume; caregiver, Tina Blume; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Daryn Mardis, Sean Thompson, Daryn Mardis, Jr., Donovan Mardis, William Nelson, and Ryan Nealon.
