 Owen Holzheuser, age 88, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008 at his residence. He was born on February 5, 1920 in Galveston , Texas. He served with the Marine Corp for three years during World War II. He was a long time City of Galveston employee and retired after 25 years of service, having worked in various administrative and engineering capacities.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sarah (Sak) Holzheuser; sister-in-law Viola Kirby; nieces and nephews Bill Connard and wife Janice, Gerry Connard and wife Christie, Anne Beecher and husband Bill, Karol Dean and husband Don, Edwin Kirby and wife Gwen, Carl Holzheuser, Henry Holzheuser and wife Lynda, and Cyd Cooper.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 3:30 P.M. at Trinity Episcopal Church, with Father Ronald Pogue officiating.
