Bertha Maza, 87, of Friendswood, passed away, Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Cornerstone Hospital of Houston in Webster, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home with Revs. Jose Mario Gutierrez and Judi Wilds officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time.
Bertha was born December 4, 1920 in Monterey, Mexico to Justo and Manuela Ramirez Sierras. She was a dedicated homemaker, loving to care for her family and those she found in need of a mother’s care. She loved raising her children, sewing for the family, spreading the word about Jesus, cooking for the family and others and reading her bible. She attended the Faith Community Church and was a member of Catedral De Fe of La Marque. She will be missed by her many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and her husband and son, Theodoro “Ted” Maza, Sr and Jr., Bertha is survived by her daughters Adilita Manning and husband, Murl of Zapata, Texas, Louisa Estrada and husband, Delfino of La Marque, Delia Garner and husband Larry of Florida City, Florida, Bertha Ann Randall and husband, Omer “Jesse” of Friendswood and Margarita “Margie” Matta and husband Frank, III of Sugarland, Texas; sons, Noe Maza and wife Louise Charron of Austin, Robert Maza and wife Rosie of Galveston, Reynaldo Maza, Sr. and wife Elizabeth of Texas City and Ramiro “Ronnie” Maza of La Marque; numerouis grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Omer Randall, Frank Matta, III, Ray Maza, Jr., Robert V. Maza, and Eduardo Romero.
