Viola Elizabeth Wegner
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Viola E. Wegner, 88, of Galveston, passed away April 14, 2008, at Friendship Haven Nursing Home in Friendswood.  She was born January 15, 1920, in Galveston, TX and worked at American National Insurance Company for over 30 years until her retirement in 1983.  Viola resided the past two years at Concord Assisted Living in Galveston.  A special thanks to the caregivers, as they were wonderful.


Viola is survived by her sisters: Roseann Riley and husband, Calvin, of Galveston; and Doris Reed and husband, John, of Omaha, NE; brother, August Wegner and wife, Nancy, of Galveston; and many nieces and nephews.


The family will receive visitors after 5:00 PM, Thursday, April 17th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.


Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Friday, April 18th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Guthier officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.


Pallbearers will be Viola’s nephews.


Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, 2415 Winnie, Galveston, TX 77550.
