The Neches River Festival Citizens of Year were announced this morning at the Hotel Elegante in Beaumont.  The co-recipients, Dr. David Tischer and Judge Paul Brown, were recognized for their work on the Beaumont Independent School District Bond Issue.

The festival officially began on Tuesday with the proclamation by Entergy President Joe Domino who is King Neches LX.

On Saturday, the Neches River Festival Parade will begin at Calder and MLK Boulevard at 11 a.m. and will conclude at the Crockett Street Entertainment District.  The parade will feature Beaumont Independent School District marcing bands, floats, Neches River Festival princesses, duchesses and escorts.

Events will continue throughout the next week.  The festival queen will be officially crowned in a coronation ceremony on Saturday, April 26.
