On the afternoon of April 18, 2008, at 12:38 p.m. the Rev. Ernest Bethea Wash, Sr. was called home to be with the Lord.
He was born in Hattisburg MS on January 3, 1950. He came to Galveston in 1970, and was a long time welder for 32 years. Rev. Wash was also an Associate Minister of the Live Oak Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his devoted wife; Eva Lexsie Wash; daughter, Kimberly Wash, sons Lee McMillon (Takawna), Ernest Wash Jr.(Alicia) and step-daughter, Christina Arnold; siblings, Charles E. Wash, Cora J. Wash Johnson, Ella Mae Wash Lindsey, Bettye S. Wash Prince, Catherine L. Wash Payton, Clarence A. Wash, John T. Wash, and William R. Wash; grandchildren, Tyreek Wash, Martavian Jackson, Christopher Alexander, MaKayla and Keyona McMillon; god-daughter Alexis Moore; mother-in-law, Dorothy Davis; sisters-in-law; Willie Alice Wash, Alice R. Wash, Sandra Jones, Theresa Wash, Brenda Oglesby and Zoie Abdullah; brothers-in-law; L.V., Johnson and Albert Payton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
A wake service will be held at E R Johnson Family Mortuary on Friday, April 25th from 7- 9 p.m.. A service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, April 26th at 11:00 a.m. at the Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
