Dr. James C. Thompson


Dr. James C. Thompson
Dr. James C. Thompson, retired Chairman of the Surgery Department at the University of Texas, died at his home in Galveston, TX on Friday at 7:06 a.m. of prostate cancer. 
Dr. Thompson was 79 years of age. 
 
A public memorial service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2008.    The service will be held in Galveston, TX at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Levin Hall at 4:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Thompson is survived by his long time companion, Ms. Bebe Jensen, 2022 Crest Hill, Salt Lake City, UT 84117; his children, Patricia Thompson Frnka (Atlanta, GA),  Jan Thompson Brown (Austin, TX), Gayle Thompson Crocker (Corpus Christi, TX), James C. Thompson, Jr. (Houston, TX), John W. Thompson (College Station, TX), and his step daughter, Laura Fargas (Washington, DC).  Jim is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
