Nancy Ethel Cornett Harris, 73, of Galveston, Texas, went to be with her Lord on May 16, 2008. She was born in Pleasant Plains, OH, on December 18, 1934.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, James D. Harris, Sr. (1982); her father, William B. Cornett, Sr.; her mother, Grace M. Cornett; four siblings: Beverly Cornett, Richard Cornett; Nick Cornett; and Mary Ann O’Malley.
Nancy is survived by seven children: Karen Hayes and husband, Fred, of Monroe, OH; Sharon Bush of Galveston, TX; Janet Harris, of Houston, TX; Connie Drudge and husband, Mark, of Vidor, TX; Julie Blair and husband, Chuck, of Middletown, OH; Nancy Thornton and husband, Alan, of Brazoria, TX; James D. Harris, Jr. and wife, Stephanie, of Santa Fe, TX; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; five siblings: William Cornett and wife, Ruby; Jack Cornett; John Cornett and wife, Brenda; Jo Shepherd; Margo McGuire and husband, Don; and her beloved pet, Precious.
Nancy’s family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 9:00 pm, Tuesday, May 20th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 21st, at Central Christian Church with Pastor John Allums and Pastor Rick Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at the Port Bolivar Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Harris, David Bush, Fred Hayes, Charles Blair, Alan Thornton, and Mark Drudge.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Cornett, Margo McGuire, and Marty O’Malley.
