Gary Clinton Taylor passed away May 23, 2008 at Cornerstone Acute Care facility in Webster, Texas. 
 
Gary was born to Joy A. Williams on June 16, 1954 in Bay City, Texas.  He attended public school in Galveston, graduated from Ball High School and was also a graduate of Wiley College.
 
Gary was last employed as a Merchant Marine seaman and a substitute teacher for Galveston County schools.
 
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Joy A. Williams and his brother, David L. Taylor.
 
Left  with loving memories of Gary are his brothers, Kevin D. Finley of Galveston, Don E. Finley and Eric L. Hilliard of Houston; daughter,Joy Taylor and son,Gary Taylor of LaMarque; granddaughter, Samarra Taylor; godmother, Margaret Ivory of Galveston and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, friends and devoted friends Bobby Howard and Sharon Frazier.
 
Visitation is from 3-7:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at Wynn Funeral Home followed by a wake from 7-8:00 p.m.
 
The Homegoing service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at St. Luke Baptist Church, 1301 Avenue L, Galveston, Texas.  Reverend Charles Wheat will officiate.
