Luke Edward “Manny” Wyles III
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary
Luke Edward “Manny” Wyles III, 63, received his reward of eternal rest on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the VA Medical Center in Houston.
Luke was born on March 20, 1945, in Galveston, to Luke, Jr. and Izola Miles Wyles. He attended public school in Galveston and was a 1963 graduate of Central High School. Following graduation he joined the United State Navy. Luke was baptized at an early age at Trinity Baptist Church. He later would join the Shiloh A.M.E. Church where he was a faithful member.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents, Luke Wyles, Sr., Earnye Mae Wyles and Beulah Miles.
He leaves his legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of his children, Michael Wyles (Jeanette) and David Wyles; wife, Clare Wyles; sisters, Patricia Fifer and Earnye Joyce Wyles (Fred); brother, Kevin Barnes; nephew, Dereck Allen; aunt, Dot Revis; grandchildren; loving and faithful classmate, Emma Jordan; devoted friend, Dorothy Carroll and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 3 P.M. on Wednesday, May 28
th
followed by a wake from 6-7 PM at E R Johnson Family Mortuary. A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Shiloh A.M.E. Church, with Pastor Eric Billips officiating. Burial will follow at the Houston National Cemetery.
