Lionel Franklin Sr.
Wynn Funeral Home

Lionel Franklin Sr. was born December 14, 1950.  He attended  public school in Galveston.  In 1968, Lionel was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Ms. Linda E. Paige, and to this union 3 baby boys were born.  He graduated from Ball High School in 1969, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1975 and served until 1978.
Lionel was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Letha Franklin Sr.; son, Edward Franklin Sr.; sister, Cecelia Williams; brother-in-law, Alfred Douglas Jr.; nephews, Derrick Brown and Eric Franklin.
Left to cherish Lionel's memory are his 2 sons, Lionel Franklin Jr. and Clinton Franklin both of Galveston; 4 sisters, Barbara Brown, Kathy Franklin, Doris Ballard (Larry), and Joyce Douglas (Keith) all of Galveston;4 brothers, Ray FranklinJr. (Charlette) of Odenton, Maryland; Clifford Franklin, Dale Franklin and James Franklin all of Galveston;  a devoted niece Cheronda Lacy; 7 grandchildren; a devoted aunt and uncle, Lillie and Herbert Franklin Sr. of Galveston; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Shiloh A.M.E. Church, 1310 Martin Luther King Boulevard,  followed by the Homegoing Celebration at 11:00 a.m.  Reverend Myra Billips will officiate.
Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.
