Free safety classes through COM’s Risk Management Institute
TEXAS CITY - College of the Mainland has announced free safety training classes for July and August. The Risk Management Institute at COM provides free safety-training classes to the public through a generous grant from the Texas Mutual Insurance Company.
Materials and refreshments are free and Continuing Education Unites (CEUs) and certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of each course. Law Enforcement personnel can now receive TCLEOSE credits upon completion of Risk Management Institute courses
The free summer classes include Leadership Management Skills, an eight-hour class that meets July 18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Voluntary Protection Program, a four-hour class that meets August 8 from 8 a.m. to noon; Principios de Safety, a four-hour class in Spanish that meets August 8 from 1 to 5 p.m.; and Process Safety Management, an eight-hour class that meets August 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All classes are held on Fridays in the Teaching Auditorium (L-131) at COM.
