‘Super Saturday’ makes first-time registration at ACC easy
To make registering at Alvin Community College easy for first-time students, the Office of Admissions, Academic Advising and Testing will host its third annual “Super Saturday” event on July 12.
New students will be able to complete all steps for admissions in one day, including: submitting an admissions application, placement testing, meeting an advisor and registering for fall 2008 classes. Payment deadline for fall 2008 classes is Aug. 21 and payment plans are available.
Placement testing, which is normally $39, will be offered free of charge for students planning to attend ACC. Testing space is limited, so make your reservations early. Registration opens on June 23. Go to www.alvincollege.edu and click on “Super Saturday” to make a reservation or call (281) 756-3531 and mention “Super Saturday.”
Early submission of applications is encouraged and can be accessed through the college’s Web site. The online Texas Common Application (Apply Texas) will be accepted through June 30. After June 30, ACC applications must be submitted.
“Super Saturday” begins promptly at 8 a.m. in the ACC Library. Transfer students are also encouraged to attend. Transfer students are required to bring a sealed official transcript from all colleges attended. Testing accommodations for students with disabilities will not be available on this date. However, students with disabilities should plan to attend to complete the application process and receive information on disability services. Free testing (ACCUPLACER) will be extended to students with disabilities at a scheduled time after the event. Contact the Office of Disability Services to arrange future testing accommodations at (281) 756-5701. ACC is located at 3110 Mustang Road.
