The Third Annual Stringfellow Orchards Juneteenth Family Day in Hitchcock will be on Saturday June 14 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.

"Bring your families out to celebrate Juneteenth under the historic oak trees of Stringfellow Orchards in Hitchcock," said Samuel Collins, III, co-founder of the event with his wife, Doris.

Activities for the day include: a car show, moonwalks for the kids, dramatic skits by Melissa Waddy-Thibodeaux who will bring to life Fannie Lou Hamer and Harriet Tubman, Words of Wisdom from the Elders and more.

Stringfellow Orchards is at 7902 Highway 6 in Hitchcock.

For additional information contact Samuel and Doris Collins at (409) 256-2552

One generation plants the trees; another gets the shade.
