Anastacia Coronado, 71, of Galveston, departed from this life on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Funeral services will be at 10 am, Monday, June 16, 2008 at Malloy & Son Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas; burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home beginning at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 15, 2008. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm at the funeral home.
Anastacia was born on December 1, 1936 in Los Herreras, N.L, Mexico to Tomas and Margarita Salinas. She along with her husband, Benjamin, moved to Galveston 41 years ago and have been residents of the island since then. She was a teacher for many years and there after devoted herself to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and she will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Coronado, father Tomas Salinas, mother Margarita Ochoa Salinas, sister Maria De La Luz Salinas and brothers Roberto Salinas and Jose Horacio Salinas.
She is survived by her sons Jesse Coronado, Milton Coronado Sr., Thomas Coronado Sr., Benjamin Coronado Jr., and a daughter, Marbella Ponce. Grandchildren: Milton Coronado Jr., Erika Coronado, Cristina Coronado, Alex Coronado, Thomas Coronado Jr., Asia Coronado Ponce, Kayla Ponce, Jacob Coronado, Cameron Coronado, Tyler Coronado and Vanessa Coronado. Great Grandchildren: Aleya Coronado and Zoe Coronado. She is also survived by loving siblings brother Tomas Salinas; sisters Elsa Victoria Salinas, twin sister Prof. Laura de Atoche Salinas, and Elvia Salinas. Close relatives include Juan Hinojosa and family, Cristal Montalvo, Heidi Martinez, Eden Salinas and Perla Pena; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Milton Coronado Jr., Alex Coronado, Thomas Coronado Jr., Brian Ponce, Dakar Leonel Cuevas, and Jose Cuevas.
