Bennie H. Hamilton, Sr.

 Bennie H. Hamilton, Sr., 87, received his reward of eternal rest on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at UTMB. Bennie was born on October 17, 1920, in New Iberia, LA to Rufus, Sr. and Gussie Denton Hamilton. A longtime resident of Galveston he was a retried seaman and bailiff with the Galveston County Sheriff Office. He also was a former mason and was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rufus, Jr.; nieces and nephews.
He will live on the lives of his sons, Bennie, Jr. (Cynthia); Randy (Lydia); Larry; Lloyd and Michael Hamilton, and Richard Tousant, Sr.; daughters, Carolyn Johnson; Bobbi Holman; Tracy Canada (Richard); Samantha Kirks (Derrick, Sr.); Chloe Hamilton; Cynthia Sennette (Charles), and Daphne Benson (William, Jr.); host of grandchildren, great, and great great grandchildren; devoted friends, Lois Holden, and Maureen Bean; a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing will begin at 9AM on Thursday, June 19,2008, followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Eddie R. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
