Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Richard Pete RhewRichard Pete Rhew, 61, of Texas City, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, at Mainland Medical Center.


His family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am, Friday, June 27th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home.


Richard was born August 3, 1946, in Galveston, Texas.  He graduated from Ball High School and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he was the recipient of a Purple Heart.  Richard enjoyed fishing, loved animals, and was very outgoing.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lillie Rhew; and brother, Clifton Rhew.


Richard is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Jones and husband, Jason, of Las Colinas, TX; and Patricia Elkins, of League City; brothers, Lawrence W. Rhew and wife, Vivian, of Texas City; and Raymond Rhew and wife, Bonnie, of Galveston; grandchildren: Ethan Elkins, Jaxson Jones, and Preslee Jones; nephews, Lawrence Rhew, Jr. and John Rhew; and niece, Nicole Koehler; as well as special friend, Maria Ruiz.


Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
