Mrs. Patsy Jean Boysen, 72, of La Marque, passed from this life on June 23, 2008, at Bay Oaks Nursing Home in Texas City.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, June 27th, at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Doug Guthier officiating. Burial will follow the service at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
Mrs. Boysen’s family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Thursday, June 26th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Boysen was born August 25, 1935, in Galveston, to Vernon P. Oldham and Helen Christina Doherty. She was retired from Galveston ISD where she served as a cafeteria manager. Mrs. Boysen was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles #48. She was a past president of the Galveston ISD Cafeteria Workers Association. Mrs. Boysen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, going to the casinos, camping, and fishing.
Mrs. Boysen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Boysen; and her son, Benard Rhame, Jr. (Bubba). She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia A. Moffitt and friend, Zeke; Donna J. Bekkema (Woody); her son, Lee D. Rhame, Sr. (Theresa); sisters, JoAnn Michael and Linda Garber (Anthony); grandsons: Joesph Moffitt, Jr. (Rani); Steven Moffitt, Sr.; Douglas Bekkema (Kerri); Lee Rhame, Jr. (Misty); and Brandon Hernandez; granddaughters: Melissa Schmidt (John); Melissa Hilburn; Helaina and Tina Rhame; and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces, Brenda Drickey and Melinda Michael; and nephews, Donald Michael, Jr., David Michael, and Kevin Garber, as well as numerous other family members and friends, especially Dawn Stephenson and Tom Trammel, Mary Clayton, Darlene and Ron Matchette, and Sherry Vargas.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Moffitt, Jr., Steven Moffitt, Sr., Douglas Bekkema, Lee Rhame, Jr., John Schmidt, and Kevin Garber. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Michael, Jr. and David Michael.
