Wednesday, January 01, 2003

photos by Lynda Guidry My interview is with is K Moon Winters, the “Chief Executive Oracle” of the Moondreams company.  And after I describe her list of accomplishments, you will see why the theme of this interview is “Women of Excellence”.  Listen

K is an internationally recognized poet, a member of the National Speaker’s Association, an accredited artist with Young Audiences, Inc., an inspirational and spiritual speaker, author, commentator, model, mistress of ceremonies, voice talent, commercial actress, Special Events Producer, Television Associate Producer and Production Coordinator, songwriter, performer, entrepreneur, and columnist for the Baycomber and Pasadena Lifestyles Magazines.  And, in her spare time, she is a freshman at San Jacinto Junior College!!  K describes herself as a “poet with a past”.  As you listen to this interview, you will find that she does, indeed, have a colorful and exciting past.

K began her career in the early 70’s as a Special Events Planner completely by accident by organizing the homecoming of Viet Nam Prisoner of War, Capt. Tim Ayers.  With TV Anchor Ron Stone’s urging, she began a career as a professional model, doing television, radio and runway and photography assignments.  K then created two businesses, the Metamorphosis Personal Development Center, and the K Winters Agency and School of Modeling.  By the end of the decade, she became “Mrs. Sharpstown”, the voice and image for the Sharpstown Center, and began appearing on Houston television, radio and stage weekly.

In the 1980’s she started yet another business called the Balloon-A-Toon Helium Balloon Delivery Service, where she delivered balloon bouquets and recited original poetry.  From 1982 - 1986, she ventured into television and film producing, and became the Associate Producer of the Kenny Stabler Show, and then the Associate Producer and Production Coordinator of Houston International Films, Inc.  She also appeared in one of the films, “The Aurora Encounter.”

In 1995, K became the Chief Executive Oracle of The Moondreams Company, Inc., where she sold her original poetry through retail stores across the country with the slogan....“We make dreams By the light of the Moon”.  She also wrote two books, “Kindred Souls By the Light of the Moon”and Home By the Light of the Moon”.

In December, 2002, K began writing a column called "The Poet's Corner," in the Baycomber and Pasadena Lifestyle magazines.  She also premiered her one-woman show "Musings By the Light of the Moon" at the DOLPHIN STREET JAZZ CLUB, and is scheduled to perform at DOLPHIN STREET (located at the intersection of NASA Road 1 and Highway 146) on Friday Nights at 7:00 PM.

K’s belief in the beauty, the power, and the wonder of magic shines brightly throughout her poetry.  Her unique talent, creativity, and love of life inspire others through her written words, her life adventures, and her belief that Moondreams do come true.

To order her books or poetry, or for information, you can call K at 281-291-0262.  Her email address is
