Frances K. O’Pry
Carnes Brothers Funeral Home
Frances K. O’Pry age 71, of Galveston died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Gulf Health Care Center in Galveston. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery with the Reverend Louis Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at the Cemetery under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home of Galveston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Frances was born January 6, 1937 in Nashville, Tennessee to Geddes Douglas and Frances Kingree Douglas. She was a retired educator with the Alvin Independent School District. Frances was of the Episcopal Faith, and was an artist that enjoyed Needle Point, painting and pottery craft. Her father owned a gardening nursery and that created a love that led to Frances being an avid gardener with a real green thumb. Frances helped many people and was a good friend of Bill W.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnny O’Pry, and a son, David Eugene Bogan; survivors include daughter, Laura Nielsen of Maryland; son, Johnathon Bogan and wife Christina of Gulf Breeze, Florida; daughter in law, Dove Bogan also of Gulf Breeze, Florida; sister, Martha Donnelly of Nashville, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, Gregory Nielsen, Julia Nielsen, Douglas Bogan, Ginger Bogan, and Joy Bogan; numerous other relatives and many friends.
