Barbara Fay Brock

Barbara Fay BrockBarbara Fay Brock, born January 28, 1936, went to heaven on June 29, 2008 after a long, courageous battle with diabetes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma and Tom Jones; son, Jesse Brock, II; grandson, Chris McCaleb.

Barbara is survived by the love of her life, her great-grandson, Trevor Brock, who she was raising.  She is also survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Charles McCaleb of Bellville, Ginger and Robert Leslie of La Marque, Elaine and David Tyler of Hitchcock; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Wilson Kinsey of Tomball.  She leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Joe Robinson and Brandi Stone of Houston, Stacy and Eric Froeschner of League City, Robert Andrew Leslie and Sarah Posey of Galveston, Leigh Ann Leslie of La Marque, Brandy and Clint Snipe of Santa Fe, Jessica Tyler and John Anderson of Hitchcock, Jeremy Tyler of Texas
City, Brooke and Scott Muraca of Galveston, Rachael Brock, Obie Brock of Alvin, Jay, David and Jason Brock of Kentucky and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of La Marque and loved to
volunteer at Dickens on the Strand, Galveston Historical Society Home Tour and the MS 150.

Barbara was a very special woman who raised her four children, three grandchildren and presently a great-grandson.  She worked as a nurse at St. Mary's, Danforth and Mainland Center Hospital until her retirement.  She was also a H.O.S.T.S. reading mentor at Santa Fe ISD until last year.

She lived life fully and wouldn't let two amputated legs slow her down.  She was a very loving, caring and fun loving person who loved to play jokes.

Her family was the center of her life and realizing she didn't have much time, she was making baby blankets and quilts for all her future great-grandchildren, as she had made for all her grand and great-grandchildren.

Barbara (Moma, Bamma) is greatly loved and missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at First United Methodist Church of La Marque with Dr. Mike Deaton officiating.
