Henry Warren “Hank” Mardis, 81, of Galveston, passed away Monday, June 30, 2008, at Gulf Health Care Center.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 2nd, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
The family received visitors after 5:00 pm, Tuesday, July 1st, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.
Hank was born June 1, 1927, in Port Bolivar, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during World War II and retired from Clarke & Court Stationary where he worked for many years as a salesman. Hank was a member of First Baptist Church and was a Mason of Galveston’s Harmony Lodge #6 AF & AM.
Hank was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Margaret Mardis, and granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Mardis.
He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Ann Connard, of Galveston; sons, Daryl W. Mardis and wife, Carol, of Port Bolivar; and Daryn E. Mardis and wife, Susan, of Galveston; grandchildren: Daryl Mardis, Jr., Mitchell Mardis, Daryn Mardis, Jr., Donovan Mardis, Sean Thompson, Gina Cokins, Ronald Cokins, Jr., and Kristin Cokins; and brothers-in-law, Edward Moritz and family; Charles Moritz and family; and Cecil Kahla and family.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Autrey, Sean Thompson, Daryn Mardis, Jr., Donovan Mardis, Daryl Mardis, Jr., and Mitchell Mardis.
Memorials may be made to the Buckner Orphan’s Home, the Shriners Burns Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
