Moses “Melvin” Hill, Jr.
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary
Moses “Melvin” Hill, Jr., 71, received his reward of eternal rest on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at his residence in Hitchcock.
Moses was born on January 14, 1937, in Opelousas, LA to Moses, Sr. and Celestine Hill. He was a retired merchant seaman and U.S. Air Force veteran. He loved singing and praying to the lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister, and one grandchild.
He is survived by his daughters, Melvina Pratt (Kent); Tina Daniel (Robert), and Ingrid Ann Stephney; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; devoted sister, Lillie Coleman; devoted brother in law, Willie Coleman both of Hitchcock; devoted niece, Tracy Washington; devoted friend, Betty Greer; and host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of E R Johnson Family Mortuary with Elder Roosevelt Sanford officiating. Burial will follow at the Houston National Cemetery.
