Frank G. Garvin, Jr.
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Frank G. Garvin, Jr., 81, of Galveston, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at UTMB Hospital due to complications resulting from lung disease.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Katharine Garvin, of Mt. Olive, NJ; three grandsons: Jamey Koenck, of Rochester, MN; Jeffrey Koenck, of Council Bluff, IA; and Shane Garvin, of Mt. Olive, NJ; as well as his ex-wife, Virginia Garvin, of Galveston.

 

Mr. Garvin was originally from Wolcott, IN, and was a professor of literature at the University of Illinois, where he earned his PhD. 

 

A memorial mass will be held at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Dickinson at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 8th, with Father Zigrang officiating. 

 

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in his name.
