Eddie “Scotty” Scott, Sr.

Eddie “Scotty” Scott, Sr., 78, received his reward of eternal rest on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at UTMB Hospital. Eddie was born along with a twin brother, Ed on February 7, 1930, in Jeanerette, LA to Margaret and Izail Scott. He was baptized at Mt Calvary Baptist Church at an early age. He met and married the late Camille Marie Walker in February 1951 at the West Point Baptist Church by Rev. J. L. Sargent. He was a laborer with Clarke and Court, and then moved on to the Sealy and Smith Professional Bldg. where he retired after 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Willard Scott.
He is survived by his children, Linda Scott Hollis; Deborah Scott, and Eddie Scott, Jr. (Dawanna); granddaughter, Brittn’e Scott; great granddaughter, Skyla Scott; brothers, Ed Scott (Chaney); Lawrence Scott (Alice), and Henry Scott; sisters, Dorothy Solomon; Juanita Matthews, and Ernestine Baker; God children, Elizabeth Gary and Jacques Ennis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 6th.
A service celebrating his life will be held Monday, July 7, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Louis Simpson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
