Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to deny a zoning change request for 5.84 acres on the east side of Dixie Farm Road north of Westfield Lane from Single Family Residential to Office and Professional District.

The city council discussed in executive session but took no action regarding potential litigation with Municipal Utility Districts 2 and 3.

The city council discussed in executive session but took no action regarding potential litigation with the Maverick Group.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an employment contract with City Manager Bill Eisen for the next year's annual goals.

The city council voted unanimously to enter into a water and wastewater service agreement with Brazoria County Municipal District No. 4.

The city council voted unanimously to reappoint Jo Knight to serve on Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 2, Position No. 6. The term expires on November 1, 2009.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Brazoria County Tax Assessor - Collector Ro'Vin Garrett to calculate and publish the effective tax rate and roll back rate for 2008.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Council Member Kevin Cole was absent.
