Clarice Bee Overly went home to be with her Lord on Friday, July 18, 2008, in Texas City, TX.
Clarice was born in Lubbock, Texas, to Melvin and Mary Lou Wright. She was a loving homemaker and mother, staying at home to raise her family. After her son was grown, she went to school to be certified as a security officer and worked in security for UTMB for several years. Clarice’s creativity made her a wonderful poet, writer, and artist, as well as an avid reader. She loved to travel, especially to Colorado, and possessed an unyielding faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debra Gale Overly; sister, Joan Constantine; brother, Audrey Wright; and special lifelong friend, Paul Stallone.
Clarice is survived by her son, Wally Overly and wife, Tammy, of Galveston; grandchildren: Wendy Gale Overly and Stormy Dey Overly; one niece; one nephew; and other relatives and friends.
Clarice’s family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Wednesday, July 23rd, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm, led by Pastor Rick Cortez.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to AMED Hospice of Texas City.
