Juana “Eva” Rodriguez
Carnes Brothers Funeral Home

Juana “Eva” Rodriguez Devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, Juana “Eva” Rodriguez age 87, of Galveston went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 28, 2008, while surrounded by her family at her residence in Galveston. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 30 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Father John Paul Flajole, OFM celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home of Galveston. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 pm.

Juana was born December 27, 1920 in Thornton, Texas to Aristeo Ortega Loera and Julia Lopez Loera. She was a longtime member of the Damas de Guadalupe and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was a wonderful and generous person who loved her family. She was a seamstress by trade who loved making clothing of all types. She especially loved designing and making wedding, quinceanera and bridesmaid dresses.

Mrs. Rodriguez was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Aurora and Sara and brother, Gonzalo. Survivors include husband of 57 years, Manuel T. Rodriguez of Galveston; daughters, Irma Treviño and husband Raymond, Jr. of Galveston, and Oralia Frailey and husband Scott of Friendswood; step daughter, Lazara Rodriguez of Mexico; sons, Manuel L. Rodriguez and wife Esther of League City, Jacinto Rodriguez and wife Juanita of Houston, Hector Rodriguez of Galveston, and Robert Rodriguez and wife Lilia of LaMarque; step sons, Jose Angel and wife Margarita, of Houston, Ruben Rodriguez and wife Rosa of Mexico;  sister, Eloisa Medina; and sister in law, Fulvia Loera both of Chicago, Illinois; brothers, Elpidio Loera and wife Consuelo and Eulalio Loera and wife Elena all of Rio Verde, Mexico; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Raymond Treviño, III, David Treviño, Ignacio Alcala, Manuel Rodriguez, III, Robert A. Rodriguez, and Rick Rodriguez.

Her family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to our sister and brother in law, Irma and Raymond Treviño for all their support and care giving.
