Willie Mary Cappony, "Marilyn", entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Mainland Medical Center. She was born on April 7, 1932, in Clay, Texas, to Mrs. Bettie Mae Sanders Cappony and Herbert Bradley.
She retired from the University of Texas Medical Center as a Clerk in Material Management. She was a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church for over 30 years and served as the secretary of the Mission.
Miss Cappony enjoyed cooking, sewing and loved her grandchildren dearly.
Miss Cappony "Marilyn" was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Phyllis Cappony Garrett and Betty Cappony Garrett; grandson, Rainier "Ray" Conley, Sr. and her sister, Lorraine Edwina Allen.
She leaves with cherished memories her daughter, Gwendolyn Wiggins; grandson, Derrick Garrett Cappony; great grand-children, Deandre Lamp, Rainier Conley, Jr., Lakeia Conley, Andre Conley, Tiffany Conley and Camden Conley; nieces, Alsace Williams, Carolyn Allen, Rosalyn Beyince, Betty Allen Radin, Jacqueline Allen and Regina Allen; great nieces and nephews; Denise Scott, Keith Scott, Sheree Walker, Kirk Scott, Kevin Scott, Kathy Williams, Jennifer Allen and Lloyd George, whom she considered a son and affectionately called Junior; beloved best friends, Essie Jackson, James (Jim) Cannon, Debra Williams Wilcox, Theresa Pickett, Rev. and Mrs. Ira Leigh, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Crear, Elsie Little, Georgia Spiller, Mrs. Eula Simpson and Willie Lee and Glenn Mason, Lauressa Wrenn Joe, Issac Bobby Wrenn and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church, 2917 Sealy in Galveston. The Homegoing Celebration will follow at 1:00 p.m., with the Reverend Louis Simpson officiating.
Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.
