Christine Yeatman
Carnes Brothers Funeral Home
GALVESTON - Christine Yeatman, 93, died Saturday August 2nd, 2008, in Santa Monica, California. Funeral services will be held at the Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont (23rd Street), Galveston, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2008. Reverend Grayson Glass will officiate, and George Martin will assist. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock. The family will receive visitors Friday, August 8, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Yeatman was born May 21, 1915, in Collinsville, Grayson County, Texas, to Jay Hogan and Ruth Christopher Hogan. She had resided in Galveston from 1942 until 1999 when she moved to Santa Monica, California to be near her son and his family. While living in Galveston she had for many years served as the secretary to the pastor of the First Baptist Church and was very active in the church. She also worked for many years as the secretary to the county commissioners prior to her retirement.
Preceded in death by her parents, Christine is survived by her son, Larry Yeatman and his wife, Sally Yeatman of Santa Monica, California: daughter Melinda Ruth Yeatman of San Antonio, Texas; grandson Andrew Yeatman of Los Angeles; granddaughter Sara Elizabeth Yeatman of Denver, Colorado; and great-granddaughter Riley Elizabeth Yeatman of Los Angeles, California.
