Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to deny a zoning change request for six acres of property in the area of Cullen Boulevard and FM 518 from General Business Retail District and Suburban Residential to Planned Development District.
Their request was made by the Kilday Realty Corporation on behalf of Imani Church.
The city council voted unanimously to approve a tax revenue increase of 4.47 percent for the proposed 2008-2009 year and set public hearings on the tax rate on September 8 and September 15. Last year's proposed tax rate was $0.652600.
The city council voted unanimously to approve a Conditional Use Permit to allow for the use of "aluminum composite materials" for the exterior facade of a business located in a General Commercial District in the area of FM 518 and Jasper Road.
The city council voted unanimously to approve creation of Reinvestment Zone #20 in order to grant a tax abatement.
All other regular action items were approved by unanimous vote.
