Margie Mayes
Wynn Funeral Home

The Lord sent a special blessing to John and Polly Britton on July 27,1928.  Margie Mayes, the Britton's only child, was born in Alexandria, Louisiana.  She departed this life on Wednesday, August 13, 2008.
 
Margie accepted Christ at an early age.  She moved to Galveston in 1954 and thoroughly enjoyed living on the Island.
 
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; children; Polly Ann Bean, Laureen Holmes, Margie Lee Mendoza, Roy Holmes III, and Donald Ray Holmes.
 
Left with loving and cherished memories of their mother are Frozine Henderson (Beaumont); Bessie Mae Foreman (Galveston); Johnny Mack Holmes (Galveston); Beverly Ann Brooks (Galveston) and Timothy Charles Austin (Galveston).  God also blessed Margie with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
 
There will be no wake.
 
Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at University Baptist Church, 426 Winnie in Galveston, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.  Dr. Billie Graff will officiate.
