Mary Ruth Wade Crawford DaytonMary Ruth Wade Crawford Dayton, 83, also known as “Banny” by her family and friends, passed away on August 16, 2008 surrounded by her loving family.  Although it was a sad day for those left behind, it was a glorious day for Banny. She was born May 13, 1925 in Alexandria LA and moved to Galveston at the age of fourteen when she became an Islander By Choice “IBC”.
 
She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, quilting and bible study. She also enjoyed exercise and being the chauffer of the work-out group to and from class. Her life long walk with Christ was an excellent example to her family!      
 
She was preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Susa Wade; her sister Jo Alice Ganey; and her husbands Joe Crawford and Ed Dayton.
 
She was survived by daughters Peggy Holland and husband Benny, Terry Peterek and husband Bill: grandchildren Pam Apffel and husband Darrell, Dana Hansen and husband Ronnie, Jill Presnal and husband Justin, Amy Russo and husband Joe, Gabe Peterek and wife Christy, Ben Peterek and wife Heather; great-grandchildren B.J. and Ashley Hansen; Blake, Kaleb and Allie Apffel; Mac and Sam Presnal; Matthew, Spencer and Jaxson Russo; Zoe and Abby Peterek; nephews, Leland Ganey and wife Vicky, Jerry Ganey and wife Donna, and Joe Ganey; and by numerous other nieces and nephews.
 
Pallbearers are Darrell Apffel, Ronnie Hansen, Justin Presnal, Joe Russo, Gabe Peterek and Ben Peterek. Honorary pallbearers are Leland, Jerry and Joe Ganey.
 
The family wishes to express its deep appreciation to The Hospice Care Team.    
 
Visitation will be held Monday, August 18, 2008 from 5 to 7PM at J. Levy and Termini Funeral Home.  There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 11:00 AM at West Isle Presbyterian Church, 13724 Stewart Road, Galveston, Texas, with Reverend Joe Hause officiating.
