Shed Gordon

Shed Gordon, 83, departed this life on Sunday, August 17, 2008, UTMB Hospital. Shed was born on January 25, 1925, to Aretha and Johnny Gordon in Hungerford, Texas. Shed later moved to Galveston, where he met and married Mary Ann George Gordon, who has been a very devoted wife for 45 years. He was a retired as a longshoreman and former attendant with Lundy’s Mortuary He leaves with cherished memories of his life, his wife Mary Ann; daughter, Wanda Marie Richard-Brown of Dallas, TX; son, Clarence Gordon of Houston, TX; sisters, Johnnie Mae of Temple, TX; Ida Pappilion of San Antonio, TX, and Earline Richardson of Hungerford, TX; ; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Rochelle Guidry (Rodney), Jonathan Guidry, Chance, Brandy and Ken Batiste, Dominic, Anthony, Jr., (Breana); Chaston, Jonathan, Jr.; brother in law, Wesley George, Jr.; devoted friends, Eligh Smith, Lil Dee, Toe, Larry, Wolf, Mary Jane Darnell; Helen; Ruby; and Irma Phillips; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to the 10th floor of UTMB, Lisa, and all UTMB staff, EMS, St. Patrick’s Church and members, Father Bok, Father John Paul, Buzz, Marsha, Emma, Theresa, Cat, Lloyd Cormier, Billy, Chester Payton, Charlie, Vern, Sammy, Andrew, Mary Shinette, Gip, James Lee, Chance, Ken, Rodney, Herb, Shirley Brown, Hattie, and Moses.
God loves him best, only one life and it will soon past, only what is done for Christ will last.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2008, followed by a service celebrating his life at 7:00 p.m. at E R Johnson Family Mortuary with Elona Stinson- Herron presiding.
