Leonora Urbana (Chaita) TrevinoLeonora Urbana (Chaita) Trevino, 76, of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2008.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am on Saturday, August 23rd, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father John Paul Flajole as Celebrant.  Burial will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Leonora’s family will receive visitors after 5:00pm on Friday, August 22nd, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A rosary will conclude the evening at 6:30pm, led by Father John Paul Flajole, OFM.

Leonora was born June 17, 1932, in Galveston, Texas and was a graduate of the Ursuline Academy of Galveston.  She married Manuel Losoya Trevino in 1952, with whom she owned and operated Manuel’s Grocery Store in the 1970s and 1980s, as well as Manuel’s Paint and Body Shop, which is currently operated by their sons.

Leonora was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Dama’s Auxiliary.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and family celebrations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Librado and Librada Urbina; husband, Manuel L. Trevino; sister, Nacha Gutierrez; and brother, Jesus Urbina.

Leonora is survived by her brother, Frank (Big Train) Urbina; daughter, Laura Guerra and husband, Ray; son, Albert Trevino; son, Gerardo Trevino and wife, Olga; daughter, Beatrice Bunyan, and husband, Michael; daughter, Raquel Cornell and husband, John; nephew, John Gutierrez, who she helped raise; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Sonny Trevino, Paul Esparza, John Dewey Cornell, Mike T. Bunyun, Jimmy Bunyun, and GT Trevino. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Trevino and David Trevino.
