Bertha Mae Johnson Anderson

Bertha Mae Johnson AndersonIn the year of 1943 in Galveston, Texas, there was born to the family of Valentino Johnson, Sr. and Evelyn Brown Johnson a baby girl whom they named Bertha Mae.  She retired from this life to celebrate life eternal on August 12, 2008 in Galveston, Texas.  Bertha was reared and schooled in Dayton, Ohio.  She was a graduate of Roth High School Class of 1961.  She attended college in the Galveston and Houston area, and taught in the Texas City School system.  She was an active member of Zion Temple A.M.E. in Brazoria, Texas. 

Waiting for her is her son, Bobby Millard, both parents; brothers, Valentino (Tino) and Roy (Royal D) Johnson. 

She leaves to celebrate her life; daughter, Nicole Anderson of Texas City; son, Sidney Millard IV of Houston;  grandchildren, Deondre Edwards, Krystal Millard, LaKendra Millard, Raveione Allen, Trasha Millard, Sidney Millard V; brother, Elmer Joseph Johnson (Priscilla) of Gahanna, Ohio; two aunts, Louise Stephney of Brazoria, Texas, Jessie Ruth Barnes of Dayton, Ohio; special friends, Doris Siverrant of Houston, Bonnie Maiden, Bobby Wiley of Dayton, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2008, followed by a service celebrating her life at 12:00 noon in the chapel of E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary.
