Wanda Waire

Wanda WaireWanda Waire went to be with her Heavenly Father, on Friday, August 22, 2008 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX. Wanda was born to the late Percy Phillips and Dorothy Williams. A life long resident of Galveston, she was a devoted wife and mother.   

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; grandmothers, Nancy Fisher, Octavia Phillips; five uncles and four aunts. 

She leaves to cherish the memories of her life, a very devoted husband, Leo Waire, Sr.; her loving children Leo, Jr., Sierra, Leoshia, and Amari Waire; devoted step mother, Irma Phillips; sister, Cynthia Davis (Edward); brothers, Wesley James, and Derek Lee Williams; step brothers, Andrew Charles, and Melvin White; step sisters, Dr. Lynda Moses (Chris), Lisa Ann Phillips; aunts, Hattie Tisino, Florence Chambers, Viola Charles, Ruth Ellen Caligone, Helena Lewis Avery; special friends, Betty Jo, Wanda Gail Wafer; devoted cousin, Wayne Johnson; devoted mother in law, Mrs. H.B. Waire, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM, on Friday, August 29th, followed by a wake from 7-8 PM. A service celebrating the life of Wanda will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2008, at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Louis Simpson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
