Lowell was born June 21, 1935 and peacefully passed-away in
his sleep August 29, 2008, in Texas City at the age of 73. Lowell
grew up in Valley, Nebraska.
He is survived by his children Dean, DeAnn, Dan & Dale and their
spouses Ginsy, Doug & Ginger; grandchildren Amanda, Earl, Joel, Chad
Shelby; his beloved friend Ann King, her daughter Rachel and
grandchildren Haleigh, Jamie and Shane; and former wife, Maureen Vail.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl C. & Emma Growcock,
brother Harlan, son Dane, daughter-in-law Alicia, granddaughter
Michelle & great-granddaughter, Serenity.
Lowell will be remembered by his family and friends as a
passionate chef, whose greatest joy was sharing his tasty creations.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008, 3:00 pm
at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home located at 2128 Broadway,
Galveston, Texas, with Deacon Robert Standridge officiating.
Because Lowell’s favorite television program was America’s Test
Kitchen, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to
the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS)
