Jerrol B. Hogan
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary

Jerrol B. HoganOn August 27, 2008, God saw fit to call his faithful servant, Jerrol B. Hogan, home.

Born March 7, 1950, to the late Granville T. Hogan, Sr. and Annie B. Noah Hogan, Jerrol, at an early age was baptized at Greater Bell Zion Baptist Church.  He later moved his membership to Progressive Baptist Church and in later years, Jerrol joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Freetown, Louisiana.

Jerrol was educated in the public schools of Galveston and La Marque and was a 1968 graduate of Ball High School. He then served his country in the U. S. Air Force. After his tour of duty, he returned home to Texas. Living out a full life as a truck driver, little league coach, league official and was an employee of the City of Texas City, retiring in 1999.

Greeting him at Heaven’s gates are his parents, Annie B. and G. T. Hogan, Sr., brother, G. T. Hogan, Jr. and sister, Gladys Hogan-Joseph.

He leaves behind a legacy of close family members and a host of beautiful friends.
The children are our future… Teach them well so they can lead the way.  He believed.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, September 5, 2008, at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 5820 FM 1765 in Texas City with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jonathan D. Steele, Sr., officiating.  Additional Services and burial will be Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church #1 in Freetown, Louisiana under the direction of E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary of Galveston.

In lieu of flowers and other condolences, the family requests that donations be made in Jerrol's name to the Mainland Express Football Organization, c/o Willie Holmes, 7506 Canary Circle, Texas City, Texas 77591.
